The eve to the end.

Before I start posting about my experience of the Bendigo Writers Festival as a WIA student, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the weekend past. In the beginning, I was sceptical. My expectations were affected by the stress of travel, accommodation, deadlines and the absence from work alongside having never attended a writers festival before, or a subject designed in such a way.
I was anxious and completely overwhelmed.
As the weekend comes to a close, I'd like to praise both the Bendigo Writers Festival and Latrobe University for their tremendous effort.

The knowledge gained from this weekend has been life altering. I have exited with a new perspective on writing, the styles of writing, the steps of publishing, the career opportunities available and power that can be achieved within. I've met many accomplished people, and others who have the ability to be so. I've listened to some beautiful theories and controversial opinions. The Bendigo Writers festival has brought those authors and that industry to life.

Furthermore, I'd like to thank all those people I've met this weekend. Creativity has no boundaries, and within my peers I have seen the variety of people it possesses and abundance of ways it inhabits. Those with outrageous life experiences, those that watch and listen, the welcoming, the outspoken and the silent. I've taken away a lot from everyone, and although you may not be aware, I'm grateful. You all possess great talent in different areas like photography, script-writing, music, protesting and have wonderful aspirations.
I'm certain incredible things will become of you all.

Thankyou for the experience.
